Russell Watson and Aled Jones perform ‘Cinema Paradiso’ and ‘Funiculì, Funiculà!’ at The Global Awards 2020 with Very.co.uk.
Russell Watson and Aled Jones performed two stunning duets at The Global Awards with Very.co.uk tonight (Thursday 5 March).
Taking to the sparkling stage at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo in London, the superstar tenor and baritone performed ‘Cinema Paradiso’ (watch above) and ‘Funiculì, Funiculà!’ (below) in the middle of the ceremony.
They were on the bill with the likes of Ellie Goulding, Camila Cabello and the Stereophonics, who closed The Global Awards with a 20-minute set of old and new crowd pleasers.
Watson was among those nominated in the Best Classical Artist category of this year’s awards, but star cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason scooped the win after an impressive year releasing Elgar’s towering Cello Concerto in an album that made history entering the UK Official Album Chart and noticeably got more kids interested in the cello.

Classic FM presenter Myleene Klass co-hosted the annual awards show, which recognises some of the most exciting names in music.
The category was publicly voted.
