Classic FM Arts Daily Podcast - 21 August 2009

Bob Jones' pioneering podcast series dedicates time to the artists and organisations that make the classical world turn - this week he talks to Valery Gergiev.

When the Russian conductor Valery Gergiev first saw the newly built Symphony Hall in Birmingham, he liked it so much he demanded that he be the first company to perform opera there. He's kept up his relationship ever since, and this autumn is back to lead the combined might of the CBSO and Mariinsky orchestras and choruses.
