Soprano Jackie Evancho has covered 'The Rains of Castamere' from the cult TV series Game Of Thrones, originally composed by Ramin Djawadi.

Evancho's lushly orchestrated and operatic version appeared on iTunes yesterday, having been posted on YouTube earlier in the week.

The 14-year-old singer is not the only person to have covered the song, which originally featured in the second season of the popular fantasy drama based on George R.R. Martin's books.

A version recorded by indie band The National featured over the credits of a second season episode, and characters in the show itself are occasionally heard humming the song's melody.

The lyrics of the song were originally written by GoT creator and novelist George R.R. Martin. It has also been covered by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros.

Evancho's version will also feature on her new album, Awakening, due out in September.
