Watch highlights from Daniel Hope's incredible Bristol Proms performance, as he explains exactly how he's bringing Baroque music into the 21st century.

Daniel Hope's explosive Baroque performance at the Bristol Proms last night needs to be seen to be believed. Luckily, we were there to capture the experience - and after an evening of lively percussion, crazy violin virtuosity, and incredible improvisation, we haven't quite recovered.

Classic FM's Jane Jones caught up with the charismatic violinist ahead of his performance, where he explored almost 200 years of music, bringing Baroque music bang up-to-date with the help of a microphone, a metallic shirt, multi-angled cameras, and Google Glass.

Speaking about his performance, he said: "You'll hear how the violin changed, how it was used as a dance instrument, as quite a radical and almost funky instrument, how it became something very different, a singing, beautiful cantabile instrument, and it illuminates the lives of some of the composers and violinists who made this music, leading up to the greatest musician of all - at least for me - Bach."
