Now on general release, Disney's Into the Woods gives a fun twist to some of the Brothers Grimm's timeless fairy tales, intertwining plots and characters and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests.
The film has already been a huge hit with American cinema goers, becoming a Christmas box office smash and officially the biggest ever US opening for a screen adaptation of a Broadway show.
This humorous and heartfelt musical features the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel - all woven together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with a witch who has put a curse on them.
Directed by Rob 'Chicago' Marshall, Disney's Into the Woods is based on the Tony-winning original musical by James Lapine and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim. It stars Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, James Corden and Chris Pine.
