Michael Giacchino explains the new challenges faced by the music in the new Star Trek movie

Michael Giacchino has opened up on the challenges he faced when composing the music for the new Star Trek movie, Star Trek Into Darkness in a new exclusive featurette. Describing the characters and cast as "really good", he said that the intention with the new score was to expand on themes established in the 2009 original reboot.
