Royal Choral Society perform Elijah
Choral music fans won’t want to miss the Royal Choral Society’s performance of Mendelssohn’s towering Biblical epic Elijah at London’s Barbican on Tuesday 2nd July at 7.30pm.
The work is usually performed in English, but the choir will be singing the original German libretto, which will add an extra frisson of power and drama to this magnificent oratorio. Outstanding baritone Christopher Purves sings the role of Elijah alongside a stellar line-up of soloists accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra, all conducted by Richard Cooke.
