A study weekend celebrating the 150th birthday of Frederick Delius is to take place at The British Library in September.
The 150th anniversary of the birth of Frederick Delius is to be marked by the Delius Society with a study weekend at The British Library on September 22nd and 23rd. Titled Delius in 2012: an International Celebration, it will focus on the life and work of the composer.
The symposium is aimed at newcomers and scholars alike. It will feature lectures, talks on various Delius-related topics from scholars such as Professor Tim Blanning and composer Anthony Payne. There will also be panel discussions and film screenings, all related to various aspects of the composer's life.
The British Library currently houses the majority of Delius manuscripts, donated by the Delius society in 1996. Tickets cost £20 per day, including some refreshments, and are available from the British Library website.
