Tasmin Little at Kings Place
Next week violinist Tasmin Little is in residence at Kings Place in London, with a programme called Tasmin Little and Friends - Violin Journey, comprising concerts, masterclasses and workshops.
Fuelled by a passion for introducing audiences to new genres, Tasmin excels at putting together musical ‘vehicles’ like this one. Over the week she will explore music spanning 200 years, from early-18th-century Bach to chamber music by Messiaen, for which she is joined by a host of musician friends, including Piers Lane and Paul Watkins.
"I love putting together programmes and getting my friends to work with me. It's a very social pastime. But the best thing is to communicate with the incredible music. The applause is a marvellous psychological gift. It's a way that we musicians want to give our very best. It's a way for the audience to say they have an expectation - to say we are with you, to join in your journey, to experience the music alongside you."
