RSNO Out and About in Dumfries

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra has broken out of its usual concert hall haunts and is resident in Dumfriesshire this week. This is the orchestra's seventh annual Out and About, which sees RSNO members hosting and participating in dozens of events, bringing music to this often musically neglected area of southern Scotland.

Out and About is one of the most ambitious projects carried out by the orchestra and its musicians, with eight public performances, music workshops and community visits and over 30 events with primary and nursery schools and music groups.

The week concludes with an all-Mozart programme on Friday by the woodwind and strings of the RSNO, and a large-scale Dumfries community singing project performance on Saturday, led by RSNO Assistant Conductor Christian Kluxen.
