Opera workshops with homeless people in Cardiff are to be held in a collaborative venture between the Welsh National Opera and Streetwise Opera.

The WNO have announced that they will be working with Streetwise Opera to hold opera workshops for homeless people in Cardiff. The workshops will be held from September in the city's Huggard Centre, a new day centre and hostel facility.

Involving a range of different areas of opera, the workshops are designed to benefit homeless people from the city. A range of artistic professionals have been drafted in to oversee the sessions, which will include opportunities to see different operas, perform and take on work placements.

Streetwise Opera currently run similar programmes at various locations across the country. Attendees are encouraged to sing, dance and act with a view to improving their lives and possibly finding work.

Session will take place at the Huggard Centre, every Thursday from 1pm - 3pm.
