This rendition of O Sole Mio is NEXT LEVEL (and it’s not by Pavarotti)

Sure, Pavarotti, Carreras and Domingo totally smashed the song over twenty years ago. But that didn’t stop Sol3 Mio from having another (very amusing) bash at it.

When you’re a musical family, you’ve got to have a good party piece – and this performance from the New Zealand town of Wanganui in 2012 brought the house down.

The New Zealand/Samoan brothers and cousins Darren, Moses and Amitai were singing at the New Zealand Opera School, when they treated their friends to their own version of the Neapolitan classic ‘O Sole Mio’.

As you can see, they absolutely nail it, from their vocals and acting to the slapstick comedy. It’s also important that we draw your attention to this note:

YES, THAT’S A TOP E FLAT.

Over the next five years, Sol3 Mio achieved sell-out tours and chart-topping fame, touring around the world. They also came to Classic FM Towers, to serenade us with ‘Yellow Bird’ (they were awesome):
