Lieutenant Colonel Graham Jones on the British Military Tournament
Next month sees the British Military Tournament return to London's Earls Court. Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau has been speaking to Lieutenant Colonel Graham Jones of the Coldstream Guards all about it.
The British Military Tournament, formally known as the Royal Tournament, was reinstated last year, after running annually between 1880 and 1999. The event, which features 700 troops, 100 horses and massed bands, celebrates the skills and the precision of the British Armed Forces.
This year, the focus will be on ‘the special relationship’ between the UK and the US, recreating famous episodes in history such as the American War of Independence.
Lieutenant Colonel Graham Jones will be leading the Coldstream Guards for this spectacular event in December. Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau spoke to him all about the event as well as his other major roles in next week's Festival of Rememberance and managing the music for the cenotaph on Remembrance Day.
