The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain is inviting talented young instrumentalists and composers to apply to be a member of NYO 2013. If you’re aged between 13 and 18 and are at grade 8 standard or above, this could be your moment to join this dynamic national team. You’ll perform the most exciting orchestral music in iconic locations, work with top class conductors and tutors and inspire other young musicians in what will be an unforgettable year.
"NYO is one of the most amazing communities I will ever be part of. Being offered a place was life-changing."
Louis, 16, Trumpet, current member
To apply, you must be 18 or under and at least 13 on 1 September 2012. Current and former NYO members aged 18 or over are entitled to re-audition so long as they are under 20 when the NYO year culminates. For NYO 2013, that means new applicants must be 18 or under on 1 September 2012, and current or former players re-applying must be 19 or under on 10 August 2013. You must also be a British citizen, or be resident or studying in the British Isles, and you must not be studying full time at a college of music, or on a joint course with a music college.
