Hayley Westenra was one of the stars that launched ‘We Will Remember Them’, a charity CD in aid of the Royal British Legion, yesterday at the Imperial War Museum in London.
The soprano is among a host of special guests that have read some of the nation’s favourite poems of Remembrance, set to the world’s most moving classical music. Along with Westenra, who’s uncle served in the New Zealand Royal Air Force, other big names include Stephen Fry, Joanna Lumley, Nigel Havers and Dame Vera Lynn.
‘We Will Remember Them’ will contribute £1 of each copy sold to The Royal British Legion’s target of raising £90 million, an apt figure for the Poppy Appeal’s 90th year.
