Craig Ogden has been at number one in the Official Charts for a month, and he’s already thinking about his next album, he has revealed to classicfm.com.
Ogden says a second album is "certainly something that I would be delighted to do for Classic FM".
Ogden’s album The Guitarist, on the Classic FM label, rose straight to number on its release and ended André Rieu’s monopolisation of the Charts with his album Forever Vienna. Ogden says "It’s an absolute thrill to have the album at number one."
Asked how he decided on the repertoire for The Guitarist, Ogden replied: "We went for tracks that we knew were some of Classic FM listeners’ favourite tracks. We’ve tried to create some really innovative guitar versions of things like the Beethoven Moonlight Sonata and Debussy’s Clair de Lune and we added to that some well-known solo guitar tracks and also some pieces that people won’t have heard before but about which we had a feeling people would really like."
Craig Ogden will be performing a track from his latest album at Classic FM Live on Thursday 30 September: "I understand that Ashokan Farewell has been one of the most requested tracks of the album, so it will be lovely to have the opportunity to do it live."
