Harpist Catrin Finch made her Classic FM Live debut joining our Karl Jenkins 70th Birthday tribute at the Wales Millennium Centre.
The 'Queen of Harps' Catrin Finch has been talking about her long working relationship with the composer Karl Jenkins, who she considers 'a legend.'
She was talking with Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau ahead of her performance at the Wales Millennium Centre in our 70th birthday celebrations for Karl Jenkins at Classic FM Live, 10 February 2014.
Catrin played Tros Y Garreg - 'Crossing the Stone' - which comes from a harp concerto commissioned by HRH The Prince of Wales. Based on a traditional Welsh folk melody, it was originally conceived as a double harp concerto for Catrin - who was The Prince of Wales’ Royal Harpist at the time, with Elinor Bennett - her first harp teacher who is also now her mother-in-law.
