Benjamin Grosvenor picks up his latest award triumph - the Critics' Award at the 2012 Classic BRIT Awards.
Pianist Benjamin Grosvenor has won the Critics' Award at the 2012 Classic BRIT Awards.
He beat competition from Sir Simon Rattle and the BBC Symphony Orchestra to triumph in the category and follow his double Gramophone Awards win last week. "My heartfelt thanks to the Classic BRITs, and the critics," he commented. He also paid tribute to Decca, his label, and his producers and engineers. He dedicated the award to his brother, Jonathan Grosvenor, "for putting up with my incessant practice over the years."
Writer and broadcaster Janet Street Porter was on hand to present the award.
