Representing the Classical category in The Times South Bank Breakthrough Award, the young pianist is up against a variety of artists from different genres including TV Drama, Books, Rock/Pop, and Opera, where soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn is nominated.
Young piano sensation Benjamin Grosvenor is one of the ten artists nominated for The Times South Bank Breakthrough Award. Nominees include promising young stars from across the arts spectrum.
Grosvenor is one of two classical stars to be on the shortlist, as well as soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn who is nominated in the Opera category. Other nominees include Chvrches in the Rock/Pop category, Rachel Joyce in the Books category, and playwright James Graham in the Theatre category.
Decided by an online vote, the winner will be announced in a ceremony in London on 12 March. Last year's winner, soprano Sophie Bevan, makes her Royal Opera House debut in May.
