Notes From Hidden Britain, Ben Fogle's Sunday drive through the nation's classical music heritage, took us to East Anglia. Here's what he found there
English composer Roger Quilter is buried in his family tomb in the village of Bawdsey in Suffolk. The family seat, the Quilter Baronetcy, of Bawdsey Manor in Bawdsey, was bought by his businessman and politician father in 1897, although Quilter was actually born in Hove in 1877 and died in London in 1953. He wrote over 100 songs - perhaps his best known being ‘Oh Mistress Mine’.
