In tonight’s programme, Alex James marks the birthday of Hollywood's greatest movie music master John Williams. He’s turning 83 on Sunday but is still composing and conducting.

Alex will also mark the premiere performance of Rachmaninov's Symphony No.2, the birth of the legendary American soprano Leontyne Price, and the first performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20.

He'll also be raising a glass to the London Mozart Players, who gave their very first concert on 11 February 1949, and tells the story of the premiere of Beethoven's now-famous Piano Concerto No.5, 'Emperor'.
