Margherita Taylor, Lucy Coward, Jane Jones, Catherine Bott, Anne-Marie Minhall and Katie Breathwick step out for Global’s Make Some Noise.

Classic FM presenters Jane Jones, Margherita Taylor, Lucy Coward, Catherine Bott, Anne-Marie Minhall and Katie Breathwick stepped out for Classic FM’s Big Walk last weekend.

While Jane opted for a flat country stroll, the rest of the girl gang walked together in London to raise awareness for Global’s Make Some Noise, Classic FM’s charity that supports young people and charities around the country.

“For us, the Big Walk couldn't be better,” the tight-knit group of presenters said.

“It means we can raise vital funds for, and awareness of, Classic FM's charity, Make Some Noise, while providing the perfect opportunity to get together and catch up.

“Working on different shows on Classic FM means we so rarely have the chance to spend time together!”

They walked along the Southbank of the Thames via Queen's Walk – “tiaras optional!” – because of the wonderful sights and scenery it offers, as well as, crucially, its accessibility.

“We hope our walk reinforces what Classic FM’s Big Walk is all about getting out: putting one foot in front of the other for a great cause – and having fun.”

Margherita, Lucy, Jane, Catherine, Anne-Marie and Katie joined other walkers who have signed up, planned and got out and about on walks around the country.

Other presenters planning walks include Aled Jones, Charlotte Hawkins, and Alan Titchmarsh.

They will be joined in their efforts by listeners around the country and abroad who have been in touch to tell us about how they will be taking on the challenge.

From those taking part in a wheelchair to those walking to work and around parks at weekends, there are so many different types of walks taking place. People will be exploring Dartmoor and the Peak District, and hiking in far flung locations like San José de la Montaña in Costa Rica and Watershed Park in British Columbia, Canada – all for a great cause.

What is Classic FM’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise?

Global’s Make Some Noise is Classic FM’s charity, funding and empowering projects across the UK to help disadvantaged children, young people and their families.

Make Some Noise focuses on making a difference through lots of local charities around the country, rather than one big charity that might not reach everyone who needs it.

Through these small charities, Make Some Noise funds vital equipment and life-changing services to help children and young people through challenging times, including therapy, counselling, nursing and support groups.
