The chilling first words spoken by the late Richard Burton, which set the tone for Jeff Wayne's 1978 concept album War of the Worlds.
And no one would have believed that more than 30 years later the music would still be going strong after having spawned a series of spin offs including a stage show which is currently touring the UK.
"I could never have predicted such longevity. The multi media live events we started performing just over four years ago and are booking through until 2012. I could never have predicted that."
Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds is at London's O2 Arena on 12th December, in Cardiff on 14th and 15th, Brighton on 16th and 17th and then back in London at the Wembley Arena on 18th December.
