The soundtrack to the 2013 Disney animation is written by Christophe Beck, although his score was overshadowed by some extremely popular songs.

Beck got his big break in the 1990s on the score for teen horror series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Since then he has maintained an impressive work rate, counting The Hangover franchise and the muppet movies among his credits.

On Frozen, Beck employed vocal styles and instruments, such as the bukkehorn, from Norway and Lapland to complement the film’s setting.

His innovative work on the score for Frozen has been somewhat overshadowed by the success of the pop songs that pepper this Disney cartoon, one of which, Let it go, won an Oscar for Best Original Song. The video below is Vuelie, a piece from Frozen composed by Beck and Norwegian musician Frode Fjellheim and sung by the Norwegian choir Cantus.
