Jan Lisiecki wins Young Artist Gramophone Award 2013
The 18-year-old pianist is crowned the Young Artist of the Year at the Gramophone Awards 2013.
After a sensational year in which the young pianist has toured the world and recorded an album with Deutsche Grammophon, Jan Lisiecki is topping off 2013 with a Gramophone Award.
He received the award from Sir Antonio Pappano, before performing at the glittering ceremony at LSO St Luke's in London.
Speaking to Classic FM backstage, Lisiecki described winning as 'a great privilege.'
'It's simply a pleasure to be amongst the people and meet them in this wonderful environment.'
His received his award from the conductor Sir Antonio Pappano, who said he was 'overwhelmed with envy' at Lisiecki, and that he has 'no fake layers of age added on - just youth.'
