Ingolf Wunder has made swift progress on the piano since he started at the late age of 14. Last year he came second in the Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, then gaining a record contract with Deutsche Grammophon. His debut album is about to be released.
Though he entered the Chopin Competition in Warsaw last year, Wunder tells us he isn’t a fan of competitions in general, believing they’re more suited to sport than music.
Wunder’s debut album is a disc of Chopin, whom he says is his “composer of the moment”. We find out why he has such an affinity with the composer.
