Tackling Rachmaninov's epic Piano Concerto No. 2 is no mean feat, but HJ Lim found time in her busy rehearsal schedule to talk to us at Classic FM Live.
In the past year, HJ Lim has taken on some monumental piano repertoire, performing Beethoven and Rachmaninov at her first performance in London. Now she's tackling the Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 in front of an audience of thousands at the Royal Albert Hall.
She told Tim Lihoreau that the music of Rachmaninov spoke directly to her heart.
"I remember very well, i was 13, I got so obsessed by this concerto, I listened to it again and again," she said. "I was so excited by this concerto, it's like a miracle."
