Phamie Gow's brand new collection of piano pieces - favourite as well as new - is Album of the Weekend, 20-21 July 2013.
Scottish multi-instrumentalist PHAMIE - pronounced like Amy with an F - has gained international recognition for the quality of her compositions and performances over the years. She first featured on Classic FM around five years ago when her debut album Moments of Time became an instant on-air hit.
Her third piano album, Softly Spoken, brings together some of her most popular pieces such as Annandale, Rackwick Bay and War Song, already well known to Classic FM listeners, with a number of new compositions that demonstrate how her music has been evolving.
No less a composer than Philip Glass has described her compositions as 'full of melody and surprise', and 'spontaneous and well crafted - a winning combination.' Certainly there is a simplicity, dignity yet innocence to these haunting and atmospheric pieces.
