Charlotte meets actress and Coronation Street legend, Anne Reid.
This week, Charlotte’s guest is the actress Anne Reid, known to millions of early Corrie fans as Valerie Barlow, and then later for Jean in Dinner Ladies, and most recently, Celia Dawson in Last Tango in Halifax.
She's also the voice of Wendolene Ramsbottom in the Wallace and Gromit classic, A Close Shave. Not a lot of people know that.
Today Anne talks about her on-screen chemistry with Derek Jacobi in Last Tango in Halifax and the success of that series, as well as sharing some of her classical music passions with Charlotte.
Charlotte also looks forward to the world premiere of John Brunning's first guitar concerto and the competition to find a name for it. Listeners came up with hundreds of suggestions and Charlotte reviews some of the entries today.
