Gavin Wayte on the Royal Opera House's Exposure

Today the Royal Opera House opens its doors to 16 new composers for its annual Exposure event. Classic FM's Lucy Coward has been speaking to one of these composers, Gavin Wayte, to find out all about it.

Exposure at the Royal Opera House takes place every year, and allows a range of up and coming composers to showcase work in progress opera and dance works in the intimate and informal setting of the Linbury Studio Theatre.

Gavin Wayte is one such composer who has composed a piece for the series - a piece called The Neighbour which he co-wrote with librettist Alexia Anastasiadis with whom Gavin participated in ROH2’s VOX/The Singing Word workshops with last year. As well as a composer Gavin is also an active performer and co-director of dance and music theatre company ‘Out of the Blue Productions’.

Classic FM's Lucy Coward spoke to Gavin all about his unique composition and where it fits in to this year's Exposure event.
