Comforting Plumb Crumble

Anne-Marie says, "This week, the crème de la crème of comfort puds - a fruit crumble. This one uses plums, bang in season. What will top your crumble is, of course, entirely up to you. For me, it has to be custard."
Ingredients (serves four)
A kilo of plums, halved and stoned
150g plain flour
60g caster sugar (to add to the fruit)
70g brown sugar (for the crumble mix)Method
Preheat your oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
Pop the plums into a pie or baking dish and scatter over the brown sugar.
Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs before adding the caster sugar & stirring.
Put the crumble mix on top of the fruit making sure it's well covered and into the hot oven it goes to bubble away for about 35-40 minutes.
