The Full Works Concert – Thursday 15 November 2012: Rachmaninov

Tonight, a real treat for all fans of Romantic music, as Jane Jones dedicates two hours to Sergei Rachmaninov.

Tonight's concert begins with a brilliant recording of the Piano Concerto No.3 from Martha Argerich, and we’ll also enjoy the whole of the famous Symphony No.2 – from a brand new release featuring the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko.  Plus – the beautiful Vocalise performed by cellist Ha-Na Chang, and a rarely heard Rachmaninov song entitled Sing Not, O Lovely One.
