Alexander Armstrong Classic FM

If you could sit down and have a coffee with one great composer, who would it be?
Will Todd - because I haven't seen him for ages and I'd love to catch up!

What’s your guilty pleasure?
TV talent shows. Love 'em.

Which superpower would you like to have?
Time travel would be kind of handy.

What's your favourite snack when you're feeling a bit peckish in the Classic FM studio?
The studio cafe makes an excellent flapjack. I mean really excellent.

All-time favourite piece of music?
J.S. Bach 's St Matthew Passion.

All-time favourite book?
The Great Gatsby  by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

What was it like to record Good King Wenceslas with The Sixteen?
I've been a devotee of Harry Christophers  and The Sixteen  for years. It was slightly unreal to be standing at the front of that amazing ensemble as a soloist.

It was all in support of Crisis. Why is it an important cause for you?
Crisis  does extraordinary and tireless work for the homeless, day in, day out. But at this time of year, when we all focus so much on togetherness and the comforts of home, it is especially important that we remember all those who don't have a home and don't know what it is to be warm, safe and happy.
