Classic FM explores The Sage Gateshead "from top to bottom"

21 September 2012, 18:49

Classic FM's 20th birthday celebrations continued at The Sage Gateshead with a concert from the Northern Sinfonia, conducted by John Wilson and a live broadcast that literally saw Classic FM presenters explore the entire Sir Norman Foster building.

Rickety ladders, breathtaking heights and lots of cake, that's what happened when Classic FM went to the Sage Gateshead for a live broadcast on Monday 17 September.

Tim Lihoreau had to overcome his fear of heights to scale to the top of The Sage Gateshead. Originally he thought it was a joke and didn't believe that he was going to actually have to climb onto the roof. Luckily Jamie Crick was on hand to lend his support and encourage Tim to relax as they both became Classic FM's own 'Angels of the North'.

In this video, you can catch all of the action from the top of the roof and from the second floor bar of the venue where the programmes were broadcast.  The video features Classic FM's Tim Lihoreau, Nick Bailey, Jamie Crick, John Brunning and Jane Jones. We hope you enjoy it!
