Bach on Marimba

Bach's Prelude from The English Suite No.2

By Lizzie Davis

Watch Hsin-Hsuan Wu and Samuel Chan from the World Percussion Group perform Bach’s intricate Prelude from The English Suite No.2

The World Percussion Group is made up of the very best percussion players from around the world.

Posted on the World Percussion Group Facebook page, their latest video is this unique interpretation of Bach’s Prelude from one of his English Suites.

Interestingly, Bach’s music fits seamlessly on to the marimba, despite the fact that the marimba only started appearing in Western classical music in the 20th century, some 300 years after Bach was writing.
