The Radio Academy Awards nominations have been announced, with Classic FM picking up six nominations in total, equalling last year's total.

Alex James' Magical Musical Tour picked up two nominations in the Best Music Programme and Best Entertainment Programme categories, while John Suchet's morning show also picked up a nomination for Best Music Programme.

Classic FM was nominated for Brand of the Year award after winning the category in 2013. The station was also nominated in the Best Use of Branded Content category for the 'More Tomorrows' campaign with Cancer Research UK.

Howard Goodall's Saturday Night At The Movies was also nominated for Best Promotional Campaign.

The Radio Academy Award nominations were announced in a live web stream hosted by Jeremy Vine and Angie Greaves. The ceremony itself will take place on May 12th at London's Grosvenor House Hotel, and will be hosted by Chris Evans.
