Beckham takes on Beethoven... with footballs?

The football superstar presents his own arrangement of Beethoven's most memorable melody.

A video has been released that shows David Beckham play a passage from Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. Far from conducting, or picking up an instrument, the superstar plays the melody on a 15 foot wall of tuned drums.

Beckham, promoting a new Samsung mobile phone, shows deft footwork to fire footballs in time, and towards the correct notes. In a week that's seen the introduction of the world's youngest professional conductor, and a Franciscan monk that's set to become a singing sensation, Classic FM wonders what's next? Johnny Wilkinson firing rugby balls to the tune of Mahler 8? Watch this space...
