To celebrate our 21st birthday, we've put together some of the greatest 21s in classical music, from opus 21s and symphony 21s to the year 1921 - did your favourite 21 make it in there?
Subtitled 'Canone alla Settima', this 21st variation in Bach's mammoth set of 30 Goldberg Variations is notable for its rather mournful disposition. As with most of Bach's keyboard work, it's enormously satisfying to follow the connecting lines as they play and, thanks to the leisurely speed of this one, it's rather easy to do.
