Max Hole, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group International, has told Classic FM about his fears for the classical music industry. After giving the keynote speech at the annual Association of British Orchestras conference in Leeds, he told Classic FM's Anne-Marie Minhall about declining physical sales and the challenges of getting people to concerts of new music.

Hole also called for the greater need for conductors and orchestras to truly interact with their audience, and bemoaned the lack of new works being recorded and performed.

"The classical music world needs to change and be more adventurous in the way they try and attract not just a young audience, but a bigger audience."
