Composer Mychael Danna wins the Oscar for Best Original Score for his work on Ang Lee's Life Of Pi.
Life Of Pi composer Mychael Danna has won the Academy Award for Best Original Score. The Canadian composer managed to beat competition from John Williams, Thomas Newman, Dario Marianelli and Alexandre Desplat.
The award comes after Danna won the Golden Globe award in the same category earlier this year. Thomas Newman's score for Skyfall won the soundtrack BAFTA earlier in February, but he was unable to repeat the trick at the Oscars.
Other big winners at the Oscars so far are Anne Hathaway for her performance in Les Misérables, and Adele and Paul Epworth for their song 'Skyfall' from the James Bond film of the same name.
