The popular Nonclassical club night is to stage celebrations of John Cage's 100th birthday in Hoxton, London.

The Macbeth in Hoxton, East London will play host to a celebration of what would have been John Cage's 100th birthday on September 6th. The night will include performances of some of the composer's most famous works and DJ sets.

Performances include Cage's Song Books, sung by Lore Lixenberg and Greg Rose and accompanied by electronics from Robert Worby, Four Pulse Etudes for Prepared Electro-Acoustic Piano, played by Leon Michener and special performances of Cage's silent opinion-divider 4'33".

There will also be a performance from Kerry Yong, who will give a rendition of his 'Cover Me Cage' piece, a selection of recreations of Cage works. Previous Nonclassical events have seen works by Gabriel Prokofiev performed in often-unusual locations.
