The new album from Claire Jones is to receive its first airplay on Classic FM this evening, and will be John Suchet's album of the week next week.
Claire Jones, the former Royal Harpist who played at the Royal Wedding last year, will have tracks from her new album played on Classic FM starting today. A track from the album, 'The Girl With The Golden Harp', will be featured on John Brunning's show this evening, beginning at 5pm.
Next week it will be John Suchet's album of the week and tracks will receive further airplay. 'The Girl With The Golden Harp' features inventive harp arrangements of a broad range of pieces, including Delibes' 'Flower Duet', the traditional Welsh folk song 'All Through The Night' and operatic aria 'Mio Babbino Caro', from Gianni Schicchi.
The album release comes in the same week that Jones is due to marry her musician fiancee, Chris Marshall, who also helped arrange some of the tracks from the album. Marshall also composed the track 'Heartstrings' from the album. Accompaniment on the album comes from the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Stuart Morley.
The album will be released on Monday 3rd September.
