David Mellor showcases the best of the new and re-releases including today's superstar tenor singing Puccini.
This week David has a special treat in store this evening. The acclaimed German tenor Jonas Kaufmann brings us 'Nessun Dorma' and other great Puccini arias from Manon Lescaut, La bohème, Tosca and more. He's joined by the celebrated Royal Opera House conductor Antonio Pappano with his renowned orchestra and choir of the Accademia Nazionale Di Santa Cecilia.

Also tonight David has a listen to the Hallé Orchestra under Mark Elder performing Vaughan Williams’s stirring A Sea Symphony, and a box set dedicated to the great conductor Seiji Ozawa on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
There’s also a re-release of a classic recording from 1959 of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with Leonid Kogan and the Tallis Schollars present Perfect Polyphony, Peter Phillips’s own favourite recordings of renaissance polyphony.
