The New Releases Show with David Mellor: Saturday 7 December 2013

David Mellor discovered a fresh young voice to provide his Album of the Week.

The young French soprano Sabine Devieilhe is a name to watch. She has been described as a singer “whose upper register, like her virtuosity, appears limitless, while her verbal sense and dramatic engagement are breathtaking”.

David Mellor's attention has certainly been caught by her new album called Le Grand Theatre de l'Amour which focusses on the French Baroque operatic music of Rameau.

"A bright fresh young voice and some extremely captivating music," is how David describes the album.
