Chopin – on marimba, performed by identical twins

Twincussion from Taiwan on the World Percussion Group tour

By Lizzie Davis

Twincussion are a percussion duo from Taiwan and their versoin of Chopin’s Prelude Op.28 No.16 is mesmerising

The World Percussion Group brings together some of the world’s finest percussion performers and ensembles from around the world.

Their latest video is of a percussion duo made up of identical twins Jen-Yu Chien and Jen-ting Chien. Their name is, obviously, Twincussion.

Virtuoso pieces originally written for piano work particularly well on marimba, and their version of this Chopin Prelude is completely jaw-dropping.

Here are a couple of our other favourite videos from the World Percussion Group

Samuel Chan - Le tombeau de Couperin (Ravel)

This percussionist arranged Ravel's solo piano piece for marimba.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice – on marimba
