Cellist Peter Gregson on a new approach to Bach, working with dancers and the atmosphere at the Bristol Proms

1 August 2015, 14:54

The brilliant cellist Peter Gregson returns to the Bristol Proms, after first performing at the festival in 2013, to explore the great Cello Suites by J.S. Bach… with the help of some dancers and a spot of modern technology

Peter Gregson is best-known for his performances of contemporary music (he's just back from recording music for the latest Terminator film). So why does he keep returning to Bach – and keep returning to Bach in Bristol?

For this year's performance he's working with choreographer Jane Gibson to create a unique interpretation of these iconic masterpieces.

We spoke to him ahead of the concert.
