A huge fan and collector of movie soundtracks, Jonathan Ross fills Friday nights with brilliant film music. Classic FM at the Movies is packed with cinema’s most iconic scores, from John Williams, Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota, to Hans Zimmer, Rachel Portman and Alexandre Desplat.
On Saturday evenings, join Jonathan as he takes a deep dive into the soundtracks of recent releases and some of his own personal favourites, and features occasional interview with stars of the silver screen – all alongside much of the movie music you know and love.

Jonathan also selects the music of Gosford Park by Patrick Doyle, Gone with the Wind by Max Steiner and The King and I by Rodgers and Hammerstein.

As the summer season approaches and as part of Classic FM’s Great Gardening Weekend, Jonathan focuses on his favourite film scores connected to the world of nature, including Randy Newman’s music for A Bug’s Life, Zbigniew Preisner taking us into The Secret Garden, and the score to the David Attenborough series Planet Earth II, by Hans Zimmer. He also includes music he thinks is best enjoyed in the great outdoors, including My Neighbour Totoro by Joe Hisaishi, Pirates of the Caribbean by Klaus Badelt and The Sound of Music by Richard Rodgers, as well as new cinema releases Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes scored by John Paesano and Civil War by Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow.
