Tonight, a real treat at the start of the weekend, as Jane Jones features a sumptuous selection of music on The Full Works Concert, including perennial favourite, the Nutcracker Suite
We’ll enjoy an hour of uninterrupted music thanks to a complete performance of Rachmaninov’s Symphony No.2 from the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Fans of Russian music are also bound to enjoy Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Plus – the much-missed organist Marie-Claire Alain performs Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, and we’ll enjoy a recording of a Strauss favourite from the famous New Year’s Day Concert in Vienna.
