Happy Birthday, Berlioz! The French composer Hector Berlioz was born on this day in 1803 – and tonight, Jane Jones uses this as an excuse to play a selection of fine Gallic favourites, including a couple of works by the birthday boy himself!
The highlights include Berlioz’s own Symphonie Fantastique in full, alongside Satie’s 3 Gymnopedies, Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite and Jean-Baptise Arban’s The Carnival of Venice.
