Saturday Night at the Movies: 23 March 2013

Howard Goodall continues his celebration of classical music pieces that have are famous for their starring parts in some of Hollywood's greatest films.

This week, by way of a prelude to Easter, Howard features a selection of soundtracks inspired by the topic of faith and religion.  There’ll be music from The Ten Commandments by Elmer Bernstein, as well as John Debney’s soundtrack for The Passion of the Christ.  Also featured are Schindler’s List, The Mission and Bruce Almighty.  Plus, we’ll hear John Williams’ soundtrack for Seven Years in Tibet, and the score for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – a story many believe is strongly inspired by the Christian message.
